What is Hysteroscopy?

Hysteroscopy is a procedure that allows your doctor to look inside your uterus in order to diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding.

Why is it performed?

• To remove polyps or fibroids: Found in the uterus.
• To locate an IUD: Finding a misplaced intrauterine device.
• To diagnose repeated miscarriages: Checking for uterine abnormalities.

Recovery:

Most patients can go home the same day. You may experience slight cramping or staining for a few days following the procedure.
